wonder if this story about a starlet and her alcoholic husband has any legs?
I guess I'm going through all the versions of this
movie after I enjoyed the 2018 version so much. I can see why this original
1937 version is often forgotten about. Janet Gaynor has been followed by some
powerhouse performances in the role (or at least some powerhouse performers).
It is strange how this and Sunrise feel like they were made a lifetime
apart, even though it was only 10 years.
Verdict: Weakly Don't Recommend
