Quick Reaction: Jane Eyre

I have oddly little to say about this movie. It's a fine adaptation, Production value and costuming are great. I forgot Cary Joji Fukunaga directed this. It was his project before doing season 1 of True Detective, which is odd. The main reason to see this movie is because it has one of those casts that's way deeper than it appears and got a lot of people before anyone knew who they were. Mia Waskiowska (just after Alice in Wonderland), Michael Fassbender (part of his breakout year), Judi Dench, Jamie Bell, Holliday Grainger, Tamzin Merchant, Sally Hawkins. Around the time Imogen Poots showed up is when I pulled up the IMDB to see what other familiar faces were going to pop up. Casting alone isn't enough to sell me on a movie though. You have to do something with that cast, and this movie just makes something really familiar and a little dull.
Verdict: Weakly Don't Recommend
