It's impressive how little this movie has stuck with
me, despite having Oscar winners (Anne Hathaway, Ben Affleck) and nominees
(Rosie Perez, Willem Dafoe) in it. It shouldn't be that surprising though. Both
Hathaway and Affleck have movies like this in their not so distant past (Serenity
and Live by Night respectively). Those movies were much worse than this.
The Last Thing He Wanted is ok. Hathaway is fine. Dee Reese's direction
is fine. If you are looking for a journalist thriller, you could do a lot
worse.
Verdict: Weakly Don't Recommend
